National Catholic Schools Week kicked off this week, and St. John Paul II High School is already taking part in the celebration. On Monday, students participated in a Theology Bowl where students were tested on their knowledge of the first four chapters of Act of the Apostles. Based on its success, it looks to be an new annual event for the school .
Students that participated were split into teams of five. Four would be playing, and the fifth would be a substitute. The teams were “4S1T”, “Faith, Hope, and Brains”, and “Axe of the Apostles.” The first round between “4S1T” and “Axe of the Apostles” ended with the defeat of the “Axe of the Apostles.” The “Axe of the Apostles” went on to battle “Faith, Hope, and Brains,” losing once again. The final round between “4S1T” and “Faith, Hope, and Brains” was a nail-biter, and ended with “Faith, Hope, and Brains” winning the game with a last minute answer.
The winners received a $10 gift card to the Our Lady of Corpus Christi Bookstore. Many students agreed that this event was a great way to kick off the week, and celebrate their faith at the school. This is just one of the many events that occurred at St. John Paul II High School in celebration of National Catholic Schools Week.
