Feast of St. John Paul II
On October 22nd we celebrate the Feast Day of St. John Paul II. His past words of inspiration speak to our current world mired in societal instability: “We are not the sum of our weaknesses and failures, we are the sum of the Father’s love for us and our real capacity to become the image of His Son Jesus.” “I plead with you—never, ever give up, never doubt, never tire, and never become discouraged. Be not afraid!”
From Mr. Garcia
Mary Arnolds, senior at St. John Paul II High School, has received a College Board National Recognition Programs 2020-2021 National Hispanic Scholar Award. These awards are based upon the junior year PSAT/NMSQT scores. Mary’s PSAT/NMSQT scores are in the top 2.5% of all 1.5 million test takers. Mary wants to pursue a career as a writer. Mary is the daughter of Martha and Anthony Arnolds.
Marysa McAllister, senior at St. John Paul II High School, has been awarded the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Presidential Scholarship plus an Honors Student Scholarship. Marysa will pursue a bio-medical degree and her goal is to become a pediatrician. Marysa is the daughter of Cynthia and Ronald McAllister.
The Rotary Interact Club started a Decorate a Pumpkin for the Children at the Ark Shelter “contest”. Halloween candy for the children is also being collected in the front office. Pictured are a few of the entrants.
